We Found A New Place To Play!!

I wanted to take my Madison, Patrick, and Carter somewhere to paint ceramics, so I googled art shops in our area and found a GREAT place! This place opened nearly two years ago, but I just never knew about it. I'm always trying to find new things to do with the kids, so it surprises me that it took me so long to find this.

Carter's
Patrick's
Madison's
I got in on the fun too! Mine looks a little rough because it still needs to be fired. I'll take another photo of it after it is finished!
I know we'll be going back to this place. It will be so great to go there and let the kids actually make Christmas gifts for some of their family and friends! It's just so nice when I find something that all of us really enjoy. I just never know ahead of time how a new activity will be received by everyone. I knew as soon as we walked into the shop today that Madison, Patrick, and Carter were all going to get into it and enjoy it! We ended up staying for nearly 3 hours and had such a great time!!!

Where is this place? It looks like a blast! My kids loved All Fired Up when it was open.

We have a couple similar places around here. The kids even got coupons to one in their coupon books for doing the library summer reading program. I'll have to take the big ones some time. GREAT idea for letting them make Christmas presents there! I had a friend growing up and her mom had a kiln in their garage because she sold ceramics at craft shows. I got to paint a few pieces as a kid and it was always so fun.

Jessica,
I posted about it on our other site. I don't like to give out details here. Go look at my latest post over there....I have the name of the place in the title! They do birthday parties and fieldtrips too!

Hi Heather,
We did SO MUCH ceramic painting when we were kids...at least while the ceramic shop was open in our town. I can remember so many days of walking or riding down to the shop to pick out something to paint. We always took ours home to paint. It was such a cool feeling standing in front of all of those little white pieces of pottery yesterday and remembering how it felt to make that choice. I LOVED it!!!

That looks like so much fun and I love all of the ceramics. Great job! Wow your kids sure are growing! They look so grown up in that last photo!

I know, Rhonda! I was thinking the same thing. They all matured so much this summer...it's scary how it happens right in front of your eyes. I dreamed of Carter as a baby last night...his little fat feet and chubby legs. Maybe I dreamed it because of that photo!!
Thanks for the note!

What fun. I've painted ceramics and seen moms take their kids, I can't wait 'til Laurel and Ian are a bit older to try this.

Chelita,
I almost called you, but didn't since the kids had been sick. I didn't think that anyone was contagious still, but just didn't want to take the chance.
Thanks for the note!

I started a tradition BEFORE Reilly was born of making something for Troy, usually a mug but sometimes a plate, for Father's Day from the ceramics place where we live. The tradition has expanded so much over the years! Deco usually makes a bowl, Reilly usually makes a mug, sometimes they make plates for me, I have a couple of mugs, I've made a couple of things for Troy, he's made something for ME...we have the best collection of dishes ever! And the girl that works there knows The Kids and I by sight now, so much so that we once got our stuff fired early because I had forgotten the firing schedule! It's great!

We have a place by our house that does it too and I have a coupon to get in cheaper. I told Emily we are totally going to do it, she is excited. I want to do it closer to when it is cold as a "let's get out of the house" activity when she can't play out. She wants to do a halloween mug.
