Thanksgiving 2009 and Hot Springs, Ark. Trip

It isn't very often that my dad is home for Thanksgiving, so it was a blessing to be able to celebrate this year with my entire family. Everyone but Vicki's husband, Jose', was able to be there. I can't believe how big our family is getting and how big all of our children have gotten.
When we left my dad's, we headed straight to Hot Springs, Ark. for the weekend. Jeff's parents have a condo that they invited us to use. We took the kids to the Science museum and spent time just touring Hot Springs. The kids, especially Patrick, were excited to see the natural hot springs in the town. They were surprised by how hot the water was. We toured an old bathhouse and visited a wax museum. We also took the kids up the observation tower to get a beautiful view of Hot Springs. It was great to get away...thanks to Jeff's parents for letting us use their condo!!

Troy and I went to Hot Springs for our anniversary back in August, and we went to the wax museum, too. (I'm assuming there's only one...the town's not that big!) Some of the figures CRACKED US UP because they were so NOT realistic looking! We laughed especially hard at the "Last Supper" diorama with the blonde Jesus and the disciples with their name plates in front of them!
We didn't go to the science museum, though. Looks like we missed out!

We had one of our family vacations in Hot Springs a few years back. We were able to visit all of the places that you did except for the Science Museum. We even rented a private party barge which was wonderful. The only drawback was that my husband was sick almost the whole time we were there so we stayed in the condo alot. We missed out on the bath houses which was one of the things I really wanted to see.
